With more than 60 years of experience, Cal's Garden Center in the Minneapolis suburb of Savage strives to give every customer a unique and educational gardening experience.
Cal's Garden Center is a family owned and operated garden center founded by Cal Chadwick in 1961. Cal grew up growing and selling sweet corn with his father, and he followed that passion by opening Cal's Market. His daughter, Carina Peterson, and her husband, Bryan Peterson, took over and continued the family growing tradition.
After successful operation for several years, Carina and Bryan sold the business to Asim Syed and Aslam Jamal — entrepreneurs committed to keeping the legacy of the founders alive while giving the shopping experience a fresh look.
Today, Cal's offers a full nursery of trees, shrubs, evergreens, perennials and tropicals, seasonal Christmas trees, Ball & Burlap trees with installation, indoor plant maintenance, landscape design, plant trimming, personal shopping, delivery, garden maintenance, and even activities for kids.

Eating bee-pollinated fruits and vegetables keeps us healthy — yet bee populations are declining across Minnesota and nationally. Fortunately, there are steps every gardener can take to help.
Plant bee-friendly plants and reduce pesticide use. The University of Minnesota Extension has maintained an internationally recognized honey bee program since 1918, and recommends simple steps for better bee health each growing season.
